How to create an effective performance:

All shows or performances must meet the following criteria:
  • Shows must have a theme relating to water and/or resource protection
  • Must be appropriate for 4th and 5th graders
  • Be suited for audiences of up to 200 people or more
  • Engage or include some level of audience participation
  • Show length should be 20-22 minutes

Here are some more descriptions of past performances for your information (and inspiration!):

Water Rock - Mo Phillips
Musician, Mo Phillips, facilitates an interactive performance that incorporates water and music in a toe-tapping beat.  Students are invited to help create music and songs about clean water issues and Mo puts the lyrics to music of whatever genre they choose.  Students are guaranteed to leave the auditorium humming an original and memorable water tune.

Storyteller with a Drum
Gordon Munro uses his voice and a drum to tell Northwest Native American stories about Salmon Boy, Turtle & Beaver and others.  The stories teach students respect for the earth and its environment, with an emphasis on the importance of water for all living things.

The Dr. Wilderness Show
"SPLASHTASTIC!" Join magician Khevin Barnes as "Dr. Wilderness" for a fun-filled stage show featuring music, magic and mystery.  This award-winning program salutes "Earth-the water planet" as it dazzles you with amazing science and "natural re-sorcery"!
