Each teacher who receives notification that their class is being scheduled into the Children’s Clean Water Festival will receive a letter of instruction prior to the Festival. Much of the logistics outlined in the letter are listed here, but please make sure to check your verification letter for:
- Arrival time
- First activity time
- Class code
- Class event schedule
- Departure time
In general, teachers are responsible to do the following:
Bus – you must make bus arrangements to and from the Festival for your class.
Lunch – each class is responsible for bringing sack lunches. All lunches for one (and only one) class must be packed into a tub or box and must be clearly labeled with the class code and/or teacher and school name. Please DO NOT pack lunches from other classes at your same school in your class’s tub. Two classes from one school may not have the same lunch schedule and so combining lunch bags creates a great deal of confusion.
Bus sign – you will be mailed a brightly colored sign that specifies your class code for the Festival. The class guide assigned to your group will be looking for that sign in the front window of your bus as you pull into the parking lot. It is very important to have this sign clearly posted when you arrive.
Name tags – please have a nametag on each of your students when they arrive at the Festival. The nametag should have both the student’s name and the class code clearly printed on it.
Chaperones – we recommend 1 chaperone for every 8 – 10 students. We provide a class guide so you and your students can move efficiently from one event to another. Chaperones are responsible for the kids. We have found that assigning a few of your students to a particular chaperone seems to work really well; when chaperones know ahead of time which students they are to keep an eye on, less students get separated from their group.
