Thank you for your interest in participating in the Children’s Clean Water Festival!
About the Festival
The Festival is a free environmental education event that engages fourth-grade students from throughout the Portland, Oregon metro area. The 2023 Festival will be held on Tuesday, April 25 at PCC Sylvania. Each year, students from approximately 20-25 schools come to a college campus for a day of learning and fun. Volunteers play a variety of integral roles to help make the Festival a success.
Sounds like fun! How do I get involved?
Volunteers can get involved with the Festival as Class Guides:
- Class guides lead a class around the campus making sure that they successfully get from activity to activity (activities are 30 minutes long and there is 10 minutes travel time between activities). Class guides volunteer for the entire event (8:00 a.m. – noon), and are provided time to orient themselves to the campus before their class arrives.
Other things to know
- Attendance: Volunteers are expected to arrive by 8:00 and stay for the duration of the Festival. The last class ends at noon.
- Food: A light continental breakfast and box lunch will be provided for each volunteer. Breakfast is available at 8:00 a.m. and lunches will be provided at noon.
